He was a track star as well as a football star in his youth, and a veteran of combat in WWII while serving in the Navy. (Of course, he counted the days until he was to once again become a civilian)
Earl began his Aerospace career in 1946 as a space engineer. He was a “Rocket Scientist”, until 1981 when he started his own company. He ran Cooper Research until he finally retired at the young age of 75.
He was an engineer through and through, he tried to “engineer the world”. (He even gave me notes for his obituary)
He was a cancer survivor of 30 years, and a globe trotter. Not only did he travel the world launching rockets and exploding “H bombs” on Quadulan, he also travel and cruised through South America, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Tahiti, Fiji, Panama, the Hawaian Islands… to many to list.
Earl is predeceased by his wife Marilyn of 44 years. He is survived by eight children – Gail, Rick, Robert, Sharon, Valerie, Jamie, Mara and Lynn. He has nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Earl was also blessed with Doris Hoyle, his life partner for four years.
