Edward Nadel Joseph

Edward Nadel Joseph, affectionately known as Eddie, passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 81. Born February 17, 1945, Eddie lived in Mission Viejo, California. He will be remembered with deep respect for a life defined by steadfast devotion, principled honesty, and a quiet, enduring faith that guided the way he treated others.

Eddie graduated from Culver High School in 1963 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business from USC in 1968. During his years at USC, he played football as a defensive linebacker alongside O.J. Simpson—an experience that reflected his discipline, determination, and the hard-working spirit he carried throughout his life.

For more than 30 years, Eddie was a business owner, working as a food broker. He approached his work with diligence and wisdom, and his generosity was evident in the way he partnered with many shelters, organizations, and prisons. In both professional and personal life, he was known as a man who gave freely of himself—thoughtful in his actions, loyal in his commitments, and selfless in the ways he offered help without seeking recognition.

Music was a lifelong companion to Eddie. A jazz trumpet player since the age of 12, he achieved remarkable moments as a musician, playing trumpet for Carlos Santana and Tom Jones, and opening up for B.B. King. Those who knew him best also knew the warmth of his kind-hearted nature and the easy humor that could lighten a room, even in serious moments.

Eddie also found simple joy in the teams he loved, faithfully following the LA Dodgers and cheering for his favorite football team, the LA Rams. These everyday loyalties mirrored the deeper constancy he brought to the people he cared for most.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Sheryl, of 26 years; his children: David, Dion, Darren, Nicole, Shannon, Danielle, Debbie, and Dawne; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his daughter Dana.

Very intelligent, deeply devoted, and unwaveringly considerate, Eddie lived with a rare sincerity—someone who would give the shirt off of his back and expect nothing in return. His legacy is one of kindness offered quietly, loyalty lived daily, and love expressed through steady presence and faithful care. He will be profoundly missed and respectfully remembered.
