Eleanor V. Tasker, age 94, passed away peacefully to meet the Lord on May 30, 2026. A recent resident of Ivy Park of Wellington in Laguna Woods, CA, she was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Richard D. Tasker, as well as her two sisters, Hilda and Trudy. Ellie is survived and missed by her son Richard E. (Janna) Tasker, two daughters Janice Baker and Christine (Willard) Brakman, four grandchildren Terra (Alex) Juarez, Raya (David) Pei, Aiden (Jade) Guenigault-Baker, and Madison (Adam) Baker, two great-grandchildren Gabriel and Sophia Juarez, as well as several generations of nephews and nieces. Ellie was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. She worked for General Electric early in her marriage before making the choice to stay home to raise her children. She joined the New York State Department of Education in 1980 not long after the family relocated to Valatie, NY in the late 1970s. Ellie retired in 1993, after which she and Dick relocated to the Phoenix, AZ, area, and more recently to southern California, to be closer to family.
Ellie enjoyed her various church families and the friendships that those brought to her throughout the years. She enjoyed playing cards (bridge, canasta, among others), bingo, and puzzles. Most of all she enjoyed visiting with family and friends. A private service for family will be held on August 14, 2026, in Oceanside, CA.
