Mrs. Elidia Pantig Pantig Balignasay

OCEANSIDE – Elidia Pantig Balignasay, 78, was born on September 19, 1934 in San Fernando City, La Union, Philippines. Elidia was married for 44 years to the love of her life Pedro Pagtulingan Balignasay, who preceded her in death in August 2000. Together they produced eight beautiful children: Marissa, Roy, Susan, Peter, Edwin, Robert, Belinda, and Ricky. On October 15, 2012, after a life of large family parties, bingo sessions, and cheering at Pacquiao fights, she is reunited with her love.

In July 1984, her sister Susana Pitel of San Diego, CA, preceded Mrs. Balignasay in death.

She is survived by brother-in-law Cesar Pitel of San Diego, CA; sister Erlinda Vergara of Long Beach, CA; sister and brother-in-law Ruth Sabalo (Alfredo); brothers and sisters-in-law Celestino Pantig (Norma) of San Diego, CA; Arturo Pantig (Bertilla) of Carlsbad, CA.

Also survived are sons-and-daughters-in-law Gregorio Mendez, Jr., Connie Balignasay, Dee Shelton, Fotios Burtzos and Rosinda Balignasay.

Her surviving grandchildren are Gregorio, Gabriel, Julian (Coralie), and Juston Mendez; Keli Dunn (Ryan) and Desiree Snyder; Frank Jr. and Robert DeAmicis (Michelle), Carrie Helton (Danny), Michael Shelton, and Tara Fonseca (Nathan); Matthew Balignasay; Christopher Balignasay, Trevor Burtzos (Natalie), Alyssa, Alexandra, and Andrew Burtzos; Railynn, Rylee, Ricky Jr. and Rayden Balignasay.

And her great-grand children are Jahsiah, Nolan, Joseph, Joshua Mendez, Marissa and Tommy Samborski; Toni Marie and Shawn DeAmicis, Ethan and Kaylea Helton, Riley and Baylee Shelton; Korey and Ryli Dunn, Karrin Snyder; and Alana Balignasay.

Mrs. Balignasay is survived by her god-children Julie Serrano, Arjay Pantig and Judy Mercado and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Viewing is scheduled from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, at First Presbyterian Church in Oceanside.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 26, at First Presbyterian Church in Oceanside.

The graveside burial will be held promptly at 2:30 p.m. at Eternal Hills Memorial Park – Resurrection.
