

Elliana Frances Martinez Marrero was born in New York City on December 3, 1929. Daughter of Anna Marrero Marrero and Enrique Martinez Sotomayor both family of merchants who sought success in the Big Apple. Her older brother was Henry Martinez Marrero he died early in his life due to a questionable “accidedent “ that claimed his life in the 1980’s. Elliana completed two years of university when she met the love of her life our father Norbert Marrero Gonzalez. After that they prepared their finances to open a bakery in Puerto Rico. Before moving she gave birth to Yvonne Ann Marrero Martinez 1953 and David Thomas Marrero Martinez 1958 then moved to Bayamon Puerto Rico in 1964 open their bussines “Marreros Bakery”.
Elliana was a devoted Catholic especially to Mother Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. An entrepreneur her whole life, starting with her parents business. To Avon sales in New York and New Jersey. She ran a daycare and developed a catering business. She was Norberto’s partner in Marrero’s Bakery and she was the book keeper for all business development. She was a loving wife married to Norberto for 60 years before he passed in 2012. The best of Elliana “Nana” was her sense of humor, her love towards her family, her affection towards her friends, children and grandchildren. She had a beautifull sense of humor that withought doubt helped her cary her through the last years of life. Elliana believed in love, fairness, equality of human kind, justice, hard work, living happily and that the fruits of hard work will summerize our passage through life.
Elliana is our new guardian angel. We are truly blessed.
Elliana is survived by Yvonne Anne born on December 23 in Weehawken, NJ and David Thomas, born on February 26 in Hoboken, NJ.
David married/divorced Sylvia Lopez and had 3 children, Rafael, Tatiana and Raul. Tatiana has 2 children; Manolo and Marianna. Raul has a son Diego.
Yvonne married/divorced Walter Sandza and had 2 children Katherine (Kathy) and Krystal. Kathy has one child Emma. Yvonne is married to Don Doerfler.
