Emilie M. Romo, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9th at 3:45pm at her home in Carlsbad, CA., surrounded by her family. She was a beloved Daughter, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She was born on February 23, 1927 in Herrsching, Germany to Carl & Therese Schreiber. One of 7 children, and the oldest daughter, she helped her mother raise the younger children. Emilie married Jose A. Romo, who served in the US Army in Germany, and came to the United States in 1948. They had three daughters, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, fourteen nephews and nieces in Germany and fourteen in Mexico. Emilie had one sister, and her three daughters and their families surviving at the time of her passing.
Emilie was a wonderful example of faithfulness and ingenuity throughout her life. She was a member of the Catholic Church; she loved God and practiced her faith since her early childhood years in Germany. Emilie was deeply loved by her family and friends. The Lord loved her most.
Funeral service is on Monday, August 24th at 2:00 p.m. at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside, CA.
