Evelyn Ufuti Tagaloa was born June 30, 1938, in Vaitogi, American Samoa and passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at the age of 79 on September 28, 2017 at home in Vaitogi, American Samoa. She was blessed with a large family, survived by her husband, retired Army Sergeant Vae Tagaloa, 10 children, 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild and 7 siblings.
As a military wife, she has lived in AZ, CA, HI, GA, WA and Germany during their active military days and after her husband’s retirement moved back to her roots in Vaitogi, American Samoa. Together with husband Vae, they founded Afao SDA Church, American Samoa; she actively took part in raising funds for new construction which was completed and dedicated in June, 1997. She was also the pianist for the church, a role that she took on at many of their duty stations as well as throughout her early life as she had dedicated her life to supporting the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life for Evelyn Ufuti Tagaloa is scheduled on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 2pm at the Escondido SDA Church and final services scheduled on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10am at the Vista Samoan SDA Church followed by Interment at the National Miramar Cemetery.
