Fernando Castillo Marquez

Andy was born on July 7, 1939, in Las Piñas, Philippines, to Mariano Marquez and Isadora Castillo. He joined the United States Navy on April 24, 1967, where he built a long and meaningful career, proudly serving his country until his retirement on May 1, 1990. During his years of service, Andy built a full and rewarding life alongside his wife of 54 years, Remedios Manulu. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was kind and generous, and whose sense of humor filled every room with laughter. Following his retirement, he continued working in the radiology field until 2006. Andy found great happiness in golfing, gardening, biking, and visiting family in the Philippines. Above all, he truly cherished his time with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories full of laughter, love, and fun.

Andy is survived by his beloved wife, Remedios; his sons, Alfredo and Andrew, and his four grandchildren, Logan, Mackenzie, Corben, and Mia.

A memorial service will be held at Eternal Hills on July 7, 2026, with a viewing scheduled that same day from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, celebrate Andy’s life, honor his service, and reflect on the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him. A Committal Service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122, US, on July 8, 2026, from 1:15 pm to 1:45 pm.
