Frank was born February 2, 1929, at his Grandparents home in Vista, Calif., to George and Inez Rubidoux.
Frank was the second of seven children, learning at a young age about family, hard work and baseball. Frank spoke of spending a lot of time at his grandfather's house, helping with the farm, learning how to drive a truck at 5 years old to go up and down the rows as his uncles picked watermelons.
Frank enlisted in the Army with his cousin Bob in 1948, he said they didn't want to get drafted so they joined and were able to choose their destination. They served in Salzburg, Austria. From his stories most memorable was the castle, the snow between the mountains and baseball. They even travelled to Vienna & into Germany playing ball. He got out in 1952. He met his beautiful wife Lucille (Guerra) Rivas the next year in 1953. They dated for 4 years and married in Oceanside at St Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic church on October 27, 1957.
At the time Frank was working for the Greyhound bus station in San Diego. They made their home in Oceanside and never left.
Wanting as many children as God would give them, they had just one Ruby (Deedee) in 1963. Frank decided he wanted to own his own business and started Rubidoux Trucking with his brother Eleazar.
He loved being in business for himself, getting clients and working hard.
Frank and Guerra had a great marriage, with lots of laughter enjoying time spent with each other, their family and friends.
And all along one common thread BASEBALL whether playing it or sponsoring it, or coaching it, or teaching it, or watching it. It was Baseball that Frank loved and Guerra learned to love it just as much as he did.
Soon the next chapter came..Grandchildren! Never were there more proud grandparents than these with their Jessica & John. They soon became the special grandparents getting them ready for school, making them lunch and driving them & their friends to & from school. A special bond between them was formed, one of love, respect and admiration.
Then Great-grandchildren, when their first was born Cecilia, she stole their hearts. Soon they were blessed with more Michael came, they were so proud now they had two. Then our Jaslyn, they loved seeing her. They couldn’t wait to get them. Getting them as babies it was like they were finally having all the children they had wanted. When school age came Frank was again driving them and all their friends to and from school.
In 2007 tragedy struck and Frank lost his wife Guerra to an aneurism. He continued on caring for his great-grandchildren as before. I think they were what got him through.
Years moved on until Frank got what he had always wanted. In 2010 Frank Piazza was born and he had his name sake.
Frank continued caring for his great-grandchildren even taking little Frank to school. Then he received two more babies Melody, then Mila. Those two made his heart leap. They always made him so happy. His last little love came in 2018 after donating his car and his ability to drive…came Betty!
A little Shih Tzu that gave him a reason to get up and continue to take care of someone. Betty was his joy.
You see Frank was a man who took taking care of his family and put that into action, always concerned for the people he loved, calling some just to see how they were, or asking me to find out.
He will be missed, his laugh, his voice, his criticism, his advice, his life, his presence and the love he gave.
Predeceased are wife Lucille (Guerra) Rubidoux, Father and Mother George & Inez Rubidoux, brothers George, Eleazar and Lloyd Rubidoux.
