George was born and raised in Nashville, TN to the parents of George & Martha Sanders. He retired from both the Marine corps as a Master Sergeant and the cities of Oceanside & Vista as a Code Enforcement Officer. Through life he also earned a bachelor's degree, took an acting class, learned how to fly small planes & sailed boats. George has always been an advocate of exercise & diet but let himself enjoy life as well as some buffets (Las Vegas & Laughlin were favorites). Known for his energy, knowledge, & silly sense of humor he will truly be missed by all.
George was survived by his children Kimberly Sanders-Weiss, Karen Paciotti, John Michael Sanders, George L. Sanders III, his grandchildren Lacy Lee, Amber, Desiree, Brandon, his great-grandchildren Grayson, Paige, his sister Betty Catherine Daly, & his girlfriend Mary Verrett.
A viewing will be held Saturday February 6th 2016 at 9 am-10 am with the service immediately following at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel in Oceanside, CA. His final resting place will be the Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, Tennessee.
