Guadalupe Plasencia Miranda was born on December 6, 1926 in San Jose, California to Leandra Buen Rostro Prieto and Leon Cessario Plasencia. She had one older sister, Manuela Plasencia Castanieto. Her mom was Native American from the Pala Band of Mission Indians and her father was of Spanish-Italian heritage.
Guadalupe was married to Marcelino (Mark) Nareto Miranda in June 1945. They had 13 children (5 sons, 8 daughters), 31 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Guadalupe was a strong, energetic woman with many talents. Her career included: Certified Nursing Assistant, waitress, cashier, seamstress, farmer, homemaker and American Legion USO volunteer.
Guadalupe traveled throughout the United States and Mexico as a young child. As an adult she traveled through Europe and made it to Rome to see the Pope.
As a very devout Catholic who prayed 15 rosaries each day, Guadalupe’s strong Catholic beliefs were passed down to her children and across generations.
Her husband Mark, two sons and grandson, Emilio, Manual and Hector, preceded her. She is survived by her children, Connie, Mark, Rosa, Cecilia, Alejandra, Jesse, Salvador, Lucy, Carmen, Anita and Sylvia.
Guadalupe will be greatly missed as she rests in peace.
