

Guyanne Shood, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Oceanside, California. Born on August 7, 1944, in El Centro, California, she lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and a deep commitment to the care of others.
A proud graduate of Central Union High School in El Centro in 1962, Guyanne pursued her passion for nursing at Knapps Nursing School in Santa Barbara, where she earned her RN certification. Her commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills led her to obtain a Nurse Practitioner Certification from San Diego State University—an achievement that would shape the course of her long and impactful career.
Guyanne began her professional journey as a floor nurse at El Centro Medical Center. Her dedication and skill quickly became evident as she transitioned into internal medicine within a private practice setting. Over the years, she served as a Diabetes Educator in Imperial County and later as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner in La Jolla for ten years. In the final chapter of her career, Guyanne found profound purpose working as a Hospice Nurse Practitioner for over a decade—offering comfort and dignity to patients and families during their most vulnerable moments.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Guyanne was known for her love of world travel, which took her to many corners of the globe. She also found joy in cooking and home decorating—activities that reflected her warmth and creativity.
Guyanne is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 23 years, Russell Shood; sisters Helen McCracken and Julie Wooten; daughters Judy Cruz (Victor), Jerie Lerno, and Jill Guinard (Johnny Valleallo). Guyanne also leaves Stepson Jeff Shood: (Laura Weber), and grandchildren Allison Molina, Andrea Leonard, Bianca Cruz, Victor Cruz Jr., Steven McFadden and Justin McFadden, Chelsea Hurst, and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Harry Blackman, and parent's Ed and Lucille Blackman..
A woman of grace and generosity, Guyanne touched countless lives through both her work and personal relationships. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Service will be held on February 25, 2026, from 04:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Eternal Hills Mortuary 1999 El Camino Real.
