It hurts so, that I only learned of your passing months AFTER.  Spending over 22 years together at "the Shop" we LITERALLY grew old together there. The craziness, and antics we had after hours (well for the most part) somehow always helped us deal with the stresses of it all and the early years we were all truly brothers. We were a genuine family that took care of each other as well as the public. I am unsure there is ANYONE in Oceanside who was better know than Gary...It is not that common for a person in auto repair to be so LOVED, but Gary you WERE loved.  By those of use who worked alongside you as well as the public. 

I never would have believed you would leave before me. If Eternity ever finds us together again, I look forward to more crazy times (as allowed of course). I am SO sorry gary that I have just been too ill to even come see you the past 5 years...I Pray our heavenly Father has a sense of humor. Because if I find you soon, I just have a feeling we're gonna get into trouble together again:-) Till then, I will miss you old Friend...

The news of Gary's passing crushed me. I will always remember his smile and firm handshake. I will miss stopping by his shop for a visit. Gary always told me, "take care of your mom, she's an angel and they don't make many of those anymore". Well they don't make many like Gary anymore either. The Figueroa family sends their deepest condolences to his family, you're all in our prayers.

We are sorry to hear of Gary's passing.  He was a voice of guidance for me during a very rough time.  May he be resting in peace.  He is missed.

Gary Gibson  god broke the mold after he was born.a true blue boy scout his motto was to do a good turn daily .he ran his business like every business person should .the customers is always number one. His Karen was his true love and every thing .he would come to my shop often. I was able to serve him as his personal florist what a honor it was for 17 year's .I never had a dad so I always told him I wish I had a dad like you .god has a great Angel .I will love and miss you my good friend .Kim Panacek .

Gary taught me how to work hard ,ride motorcycles, water ski, tell time on a real clock, and many other traits. My favorite memory of him is from his egg shell motorcycle helmet, riding around camp with shorts and boots, and making the biggest damn bonfires one can possibly make when camping! 

Gary was truly a kind, generous man. From decades of working on our cars, telling stories about my dad and uncle (Joe and Jon Curtis), sharing laughs to many dinners at Rosaritas. We will miss him dearly. Karen, you are in our thoughts and prayers and both Bill and I send our heartfelt love and condolences. God bless.

My heart is heavy and there are tears in my eyes as I write this.  It seems impossible that he is no longer with us.  Gary was a wonderful man who only had kind words for everyone and we will miss him.  My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this difficult season.  Karen Webber

I tried writing a couple of thoughts, but I do not believe that same were saved.  So, trying a second time, I just wanted to say that Gary Gibson was one of those "old school" gentlemen that was probably one of the nicest men that you could find.  He never was mean or nasty, never said anything bad about anyone, was always pleasant and kind.  Sadly, the world simply does not have many like Gary.  He always had a bit of a chuckle that he was saving.  I remember him always buying See's chocolates that I sold for my kids fund-raising for soccer, he would tell me with a bit of a chuckle he just wanted the soft centers because a lot of his customers were old and he was afraid they would damage their teeth.  He was always generous and willing to help, and I remember many times him pulling out his money clip and giving something to someone.  I remember him repairing my family cars, and always getting an honest answer about what to do or what could wait.  I remember laughing with him when he was test driving a car and the vehicle became stuck on the side of the road and me trying to help a mechanic with a car that would not run.  I will really miss seeing Gary every week, and figure there is someone in heaven that he can help fix their car or share a chuckle.  God bless you Gary, and you will be missed.
