

Harry Donald “Donnie” McDaniel, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 20 , 2025. A beloved father, grandfather, and veteran, Donnie will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence, and his ever-present “daddy” sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. Though his light has gone out, his flame will continue to shine brightly in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.
At the age of 18, Donnie left home to serve his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. His devotion to service continued through the Vietnam era, and he proudly wore the uniform for over 23 years. He served aboard the USS Enterprise and the USS Hancock, where his dedication and strength left a lasting impression on his fellow sailors and his country.
Beyond his service, Donnie’s proudest role was always that of family man. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia and Barbara (Rob), as well as his cherished grandsons Tyler, Ryan, and Jordan, and his bride Kazue, his wife of over 60 years and his sister Carol (Bruce) with nephews Stephen and Shawn. To them, he was not only a source of wisdom and comfort but also laughter, warmth, and unconditional love.
Donnie’s life was one of devotion—to his country, his family, and his friends. His legacy is one of kindness, humor, and steadfast love. He will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.
