Ignacio served in the armed forces and was honorably discharged. He later worked and retired from civil services at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Douglas, Arizona. He joined the Spanish choir and through the charismatic movement he visited and prayed with prisoners held in Mexican jails.
He moved to California and worked in the Carlsbad Unified School District. He drove a school cart which was named after him and dubbed the "Nachomobile". He loved simple things in life. He enjoyed eating the hamburgers at Burger King and looked forward to eating breakfast on Sundays after church at Dennys. He also loved going to the casino with Richard and Yolanda Larez.
He is now reunited with all his family members and friends who have passed before him; Especially his "Reyna".
