Janet Frances Murray

Janet Frances (Heard) Murray 78, of Oceanside California passed away Sunday July 27, 2014 at home surrounded by her family, after fighting a courageous battle with ALS. A memorial service is planned for Sunday Sept. 7, 2014 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary and Crematory in Oceanside at 10:00am. Janet was born on July 19, 1936 in Eldora Iowa to Carroll and Charlotte Heard. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1954. Janet married Ronald Murray of Des Moines Iowa in 1956, before relocating to Southern California where she lived until her passing. Janet was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother. She provided her family with a beautiful and loving home.

Janet was employed with Cox Cable for over 20+ years when she retired. Janet loved life and had many friends. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling the world with her special friend John Kellinski as well as playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends. Janet is survived by her daughters Julie Dahlquist, Jodi Murray and Jill Presley all of Oceanside California; two grandchildren, Megan Daniels and Michael Dahlquist also of California; John Kellinski of California; two sisters Carolyn Thune and Candy (Scott) Rector of Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and two sisters in-law, Sharron Murray of Oceanside CA and Nancy Romeis of Las Vegas Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Murray in 1990; her parents Carroll and Charlotte Heard, and her sister Jean Hirth. If friends or family are considering a contribution
