Jenidean Bennett Speer, affectionately known to many as “Sis” or “Jenny,” passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 69. After living in many different places throughout her life, she ultimately made her home in Oceanside, California.

Jenny lived a life marked by creativity, resilience, and a deep love for animals. A gifted artist, she had a natural talent for drawing and painting, creating beautiful works that reflected her imagination and artistic spirit. No matter where life took her, she found ways to express her creativity and find enjoyment in the things around her.

Animals held a special place in Jenny’s heart. Throughout her daughters’ childhood, their home was filled with animals, reflecting her affection for creatures of all kinds. One particularly memorable example of her compassion was the time she attempted to save a dying kitten by giving it mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Her determination to help the tiny animal reflected the depth of care she could show toward a vulnerable life.

Jenny’s life was shaped by hardship and change. She faced challenges that required strength and perseverance. She lived in a variety of places throughout her life, continuing forward through circumstances that were not always easy. Her resilience was an enduring part of her story.

As a mother, Jenny’s relationships evolved over time, and in her later years, she expressed care through her desire to be present and involved in the lives of those she loved. Among the family memories that remain is her fried chicken, a favorite remembered with affection.

Jenny will be remembered for her artistic gifts, her love of animals, her resilience, and the many experiences that shaped her life. Her story was one of creativity, perseverance, and a capacity for compassion that left its own mark on the people and animals around her.

She leaves behind her three daughters and eight grandchildren, who will carry forward their own memories of her and the many ways her life touched theirs.
