Jimmy Lee Perkins

Jimmy Lee Perkins, of San Diego, California, passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 51. Born on January 6, 1975, in San Diego to Jim and Sofie Perkins, Jimmy grew up in El Cajon and would later reside in San Marcos. Jimmy’s life was rooted in family, love, and the community he called home. Cancer took him far too soon, but the impact of his life will continue to be felt by all who knew and loved him.

Jimmy was a painter by trade and took great pride in his work. In time, he carried on the family business, continuing a legacy built through skill, dedication, and hard work. He was committed to providing for his family and honoring the work that had been passed down to him from generations.

Jimmy had a gift for making people smile. He was funny and brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. He truly had a big heart and a friendly spirit, the kind of person who could talk to anyone and make them feel welcome. He loved snowboarding, playing golf, and going to music concerts, and he embraced the moments that brought joy, connection, and adventure into his life.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Sofie. He is survived by many who loved him dearly, including his beloved wife, Marcia; his children, Joel, Christian, Sofie, and Isaiah; his father, Jim; his step-mother, Debbie; and his brothers, Mike and Jason. His family, friends, and loved ones will carry his memory forward with gratitude and affection.

Those who knew Jimmy will remember him for the deep love he had for his family and the joy he found in being a dad. He raised his children in San Marcos, where his love for them was evident in the way he showed up, cared, and gave of himself. Though his passing leaves a deep absence, his memory remains a source of comfort, strength, laughter, and love.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in San Diego on Saturday, September 12, at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at the church. St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church is located at 8350 Lake Murray Blvd., San Diego, CA 92119.
