
65, passed away in Escondido, California on November 17, 2021 after a short battle with pancreas cancer. Joe was born on May 17, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas to Estella Esther Charles Franco and Jose Roberto Martinez, Joe was a Texan.
He is survived by Dee Goldworthy, his beloved dear friend and companion of 10 years, his first wife Maria B. Martindale and their two children, daughter Estella and husband Abram Elizondo of Dallas, Texas, and son Joe Robert Banda of San Antonio, Texas, his two grandsons: Matthew Elizondo of Dallas, Texas and Aaron and his wife Sandra Elizondo, his two great-grandchildren, Delilah and John Elizondo of Dallas, Texas, his three sisters, Jeanette Franco and her four children, Freddie, Lety, Lisa, and Salina and 16 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter of Escondido, California, sister Joanna Franco and her three children Saul, Nicole, and Sabrina, and 3 grandchildren of Vista, California, sister Dianna Maldonado, and 3 children, Joseph, Monique, and Danny and 2 grandchildren of Vista, California, four brothers
Joe Angel and wife Maria Martinez of Houston, Texas, brother Jimmy Martinez and wife Viky and two children of Las Vegas, Nevada, brother Fidel Franco and daughter Mitchell and husband Javier Hernandez and one grandson of Valley Center, California, and brother Raymond and wife Stacy Franco and 4 sons Raymond, Jacob, Matthew and Luke of Valley Center, California.
Joe joined the United States Army and served his tour of duty in Germany as a sharpshooter, jumper and food specialist before returning to San Diego, California.
Joe shared a compassion and bond for the homeless throughout the years. Joe loved fishing, painting drawing, motorcycling, bowling and had a love for animals. He loved to fish the waters of Oceanside. He spent countless days sharing the love of the outdoors with his brothers and his many friends. Joe was a kind man, caring, and charitable man who was especially fond of the beaches of California, Casino and loved the casino buffets. He was a free soul a hippie at heart. He was born in San Antonio, Texas and move to California for the rest of his days. Those days will be forever cherished by those of us who were lucky enough to have joined and had known him. He was one of a kind to us all.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the very special friends, neighbors, caregivers, caseworker and medical professionals who have given so much for Joe.
We appreciate their thoughtfulness caring for Joe and we will be forever grateful.
Joe has joined and has stepped into eternity with his sister Marylou, his dad Jose Martinez, his grandparents, step dad Alex Franco, his niece, and great-great niece.
Now we all could rejoice in Joe’s life and have the reassurance that he is now home. Because he professed with his own lips that Yeshua/ Jesus is his Lord/ Adonai.
He repented and forgave to be forgiven. Amen
