Josefina was born on July 9, 1936 to Manuel and Pilar Jose in Bulacan, Philippines. In 1962 she met the love of her life, Peter Cruz, whom she married in 1964. Together they would embark on an adventure, building a new life in the U.S. As a military family, they were able to experience living in many interesting places such as Alaska, Hawaii, and Virginia before finally settling in Oceanside, CA where they lived for the next 48 years.
She was a devoted churchgoer and active member of the Filipino-American Association of North County. She was a fun person who loved good food, shopping, dancing, and always liked to look her best. She will always be remembered for her feisty attitude, fierce loyalty to her family, and determination to wear high heels no matter what.
She is survived by her husband Peter, their four children Fernando, Bernard, Jennifer, and Ronald and two grandchildren, Lyla and Kaylee. A celebration of Josefina's life and faith will be held on May 30 at Mission San Luis Rey Parish Chapel.
