

Joseph “Bepo” Bozanich, Born July 30, 1934 to Ivan and Kate Bozanich in the town of Komiza on the island of Vis, Croatia passed away in his home April 16, 2020 at the age of 85. Joseph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Violet Bozanich; daughter Kathleen (Richard) Hargis; two grandchildren Ricky (Heather) and Christopher Hargis, and two great-grandchildren Jace Hargis and Violet Hargis; sister Marija Bogdanich; brother John Bozanich as well as many nieces and nephews.
After migrating to the United States in 1952, Joseph held a job with Star-Kist Tuna Cannery in San Pedro, CA. In 1958, Joseph moved to Cupertino, CA to begin his apprenticeship in carpentry. Soon after, he met Violet and the two were married in Reno, NV, January 20, 1960. Joseph and Violet moved to Vista, CA in 1961 and for the next 50 years, Joseph became an accomplished egg rancher; building contractor, where the name Bozanich became the street address of a cul de sac development in Vista; and income property owner.
Joseph enjoyed attending live sporting events, especially the San Diego Sockers which he held season tickets for over 10 years. He was fond of games like bocce ball, solitaire, and gin rummy. A constamment provider to his family, Joseph worked hard to ensure everyone was always taken care of. Known as a jokester and entertainer among his family, friends, and colleagues, his good nature and generous accolades were amongst his greatest traits.
