Joseph Patrick McMahon 78, of Oceanside-CA died on Monday, November 19th peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr McMahon was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, son of Edward Joseph and Josephine McMahon. Joseph honorably served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corp and retired with the rank of E-8 Master Gunnery Sergeant. He received the Donald L. Dickson Memorial award in 1983, for his contributions to the U.S. Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Association. After retiring from the military, Joe spent many years in publishing, where he finished his career as a advertising manager at Gallant Publishing.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Kiyoko, children; JP McMahon, Ellen McMahon-Troutt, Sharon McMahon-Moore and Chris McMahon. Also, their spouses; Judy, David E, Gene and Yvonne. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Christopher, Shaun, Shay, Kyle, Danielle, Caleb and 1 great grandchild Ezrah.
