Kenneth Alan Johnson, also known as “Kenny”, and “Ken”, was born on December 1, 1961, In Waterloo, Iowa, to his parents, Larry and Faye Johnson. He was preceded by his wife of 29 years, Kimberly, his 25-year-old daughter, Shawna, his 23-year-old son, Ryan, his mother, Faye, his two sisters, Lori and Kim, his brother-, and sister-in-law Jeff, and Julia, and his beloved nieces and nephews. He was lovingly referred to as “Navy brat” and lived in many different locations while growing up, including; Arkansas, San Antonio, Chicago, South Carolina, and California, which was his family’s final destination in 1975, and where his parents bought their family home in 1976. Ken attended Madison High School and graduated from Madison in 1980. He then attended Mesa College, Grossmont College, and San Diego State University, where he graduated in 1991, with his Civil Engineering Degree. He chose to work as a Package Car Driver at UPS and was just about to celebrate his 30th anniversary with them, and he just earned his 17-years safe driving certificate this year. Kenny and Kim were in the process of preparing for retirement when he unexpectedly passed away of a massive heart attack, where his mitral valve burst, while driving his 18-wheeler for UPS, where he crashed his vehicle and heroically saved the lives of many innocent people as he moved his truck off the freeway. The loving couple had planned to move to Iowa together, purchasing a house last November, and were heading out of San Diego at the end of February to begin their simple life together with their loving family anxiously awaiting their arrival. They had wonderful plans to take their motorhome and travel around the country to visit beloved family and sightsee, and they had planned to take many cruises together.
Kenny enjoyed to do many different things with his spare time including: playing his guitar, working out at the gym daily, spending time with his family and friends, reading constantly, and offering his handyman services to any and all who were in need. He will forever be missed and loved, until we are able to be together again…
