She was born Kimberly Charlene Gienau in La Mirada on January 11, 1984, to parents Yolanda and Charles. From an early age she expressed an interest in performing musical numbers, from her “Dinosaur” song to her lead performance of Willy Wonka in her elementary school play. Michael Jackson was her idol in those days. She learned all his moves and even danced to his music in a school talent show. Her musical tastes were further influenced at a young age by Beethoven. She learned to play various instruments including the clarinet, violin, piano, guitar, and drums.
After attending Musicians Institute, in Los Angeles, she focused on a career in music and production. As song writer, lead singer, and guitarist for her band Many of Odd Nature, she was a hit in the LA Goth & underground music scene. Her tune “Not so forgotten” is unforgettable. And her trip to Russia to work with the Moscow Bow Tie Orchestra resulted in her last song “Keep love patriot.” Both songs are available on YouTube.
She was a kind and generous soul that took up various causes that always favored the underdog, such as her work with the homeless and her trip to South Dakota to protest the Standing Rock pipeline.
Her social network of friends and fellow Burners was vast. Patrons at every dark & underground club in Hollywood knew her. She was also an intense spin instructor – with people coming from all over to sweat it out during her classes at Gold’s Gym.
Her interests and skills were eclectic. She had taken up the sport of fencing and was just getting started. She also welded wrought iron fences, soldered electronics, painted and performed repairs around her house.
We mourn her sudden death and we’ll always remember her sweet soul and her sublime music. She is survived by her dog Zeff, her parents Yolanda and Charles, her sisters Deborah and Cindy, her brothers Ray and Brian, and her Aunt Christyna Morales. Her funeral was October 4, 2021 at St Patricks Church in Carlsbad. The interment of her ashes was performed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park on Sunday, Aug 28th, 2022, near the 1-year anniversary of her death.
