

Leno Anthony Gallardo was born on September 21, 1924 in West Des Moines Iowa to Ramon and Gregoria Gallardo. One of 11 children, he was the oldest brother to Frank, Trini, Ramona, Teresa, Josephine, Catherine, John, Maria Elena, Alfred, and Mary Neva.
Set up on a blind date by a mutual friend, Leno met and fell in love with Concetta Tucci, originally from Crucolli, Italy. The two married on April 23, 1950 and were happily married for almost 60 years. Concetta preceded him in death on January 20, 2010.
Leno served in the Marine Corps for 36 years. He distinguished himself as a Purple Heart recipient in World War Two and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
Leno and Concetta resided in Oceanside California where they raised two daughters, Gregoria and Maria. They enjoyed gardening and playing hosts to the girls many friends.
In their twilight years, Leno and Concetta enjoyed spoiling their grandchildren: Elisabeth, Michael and Vincent Leoni; Chancelor Zeis, Antonio Eggers and Blaise Geisner.
Leno entered into rest on December 23, 2015 in Moorpark, California. His family will miss his gentle spirit, giving heart, loving smile, sense of humor and passion for his family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2015 at 10:00 am at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel followed by a graveside service at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California.
