Leslie Lou Joseph

Leslie Lou Borden Joseph, nicknamed Gidgie by family and friends, died May 17, 2024 at the age of 81. Born January 3, 1943 to Leslie and Phoebe Borden, she was the oldest of 5 children. Leslie married Clyde Madison right after high school and moved to the Los Angeles area for about 20 years. She then married Alva Joseph and they move back to North San Diego County, where she lived for the remainder of her life.

She was a talented seamstress, sewing her children’s clothes, and making her husband the envy of his office with his custom sports coats and ties. She had a life long passion for collecting and watching old movies. She loved to travel and explore new places. Leslie had a heart for charitable giving, particularly for children and animals. Leslie loved the Lord and loved praying for others.

Leslie is survived by her daughter Jennifer Soule and her husband Jeff of Tennessee, her son Jeffrey Madison, his wife Lynn of Florida and their adult children, Alec Madison and Abbey Madison. Leslie also has 2 great grandchildren, Wesley and Naomi Madison. She is also survived by her brothers; Jon Borden and his wife Maryanne of Springfield, Oregon, Tim Borden and his wife Jackie of Oceanside, CA, Andy Borden and his wife Christy also of Oceanside, CA. She is predeceased by her parents, her youngest brother Mark Borden of Oceanside, CA, and her husband Alva Joseph who died in 2016, after 35+ years of marriage.
