Levon Acrie was born to Will D. Jones, Sr. and Willie Mae Coney Jones on January 20, 1950 in Merigold, Mississippi. Her parents moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she and her four sisters and brother were raised. Levon graduated from Manual High School and attended college at Mira Costa in Oceanside, California.
In 1974, Levon moved to Vista where she raised her family. She had a strong, dedicated commitment to her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Levon was a very loving, gentle, soft spoken soul who had strong work ethic. She retired on her birthday this year, after thirty-six years of service at the Vista Unified School District where she met many friends throughout the years.
Some of Levon’s greatest passions were attending her childrens’ and grandchildrens’ sporting events and dance recitals.
She was also an avid sports fan. She loved when football season came around. You would see her cheering for her favorite teams – The Steelers and The K.C. Chiefs.
After marrying Chuck, Levon’s life blossomed with his love of travel and adventure. She often recounted her fond memories of her dog-sledding in Alaska, her travels to many sites in Mexico, her cruises and the music and great food of New Orleans.
