Lina Castro, of Oceanside, CA, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. She was born August 4, 1938 in El Paso, TX the daughter of Pablo and Basilia (Vasquez) Escarcega. On July 24, 1965 she married Marcelino A. Castro. Lina was an active member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Oceanside and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bingo, computer games, casino trips and perhaps most of all, the company of her grandchildren. Surviving is her husband of nearly 50 years, Marcelino Castro of Oceanside, CA; son Frank Castro of Oceanside, CA; daughter Sylvia and her husband, Scott Parsons of Norwalk, OH; grandchildren: Frank A. Castro II, Cory A. Castro, Aurora L. Castro, Vivian Parsons and Vanessa Parsons; great-grandchildren, Jezaniah Castro, Ayden A. Castro, Ezra C. Castro and Cheyanne I. Castro; brothers Fidencio Amaro, Antonio Escarcega,Jesus Escarcega and sister Elizabeth Warren all of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Basilia, Grandmother Lola Vasquez who raised her, stepmother Refugio Escarcega.
