Ljubica Artukovic

Ljubica Artuković, 80, passed away on February 16, 2022 at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas. She was born on July 23, 1941 in Vitina, Bosnia and Herzegovina. On February 20, 1966, she married her beloved husband Nedeljko. In 1968, Ljubica, Nedeljko and their baby son immigrated to the United States by way of Germany. Eventually the family was drawn to Chicago and its large Croatian community. During the 8 years in Chicago, the family grew to 5 with the birth of two more sons.

In 1976, the family moved to Carlsbad where they purchased a small business which the family operated for nearly 40 years. Ljubica and her husband were dedicated to their business. They worked tirelessly to make it successful, along the way making many friends and business associates. Upon her retirement, Ljubica moved to Oceanside.

Ljubica is survived by her sons Mirko (wife Erin), Vid and Ante, grandmother “Baba” to Marina, Alex and Ava. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Nedeljko. Beloved sister of the late Mijo, Drago, Ante, Ruža Boras and Janja Čuljak.

Visitation & Rosary will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 4pm until 8pm at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, 1999 S. El Camino Real, Oceanside, CA 92054. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 11:30am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3821 Adams St., Carlsbad, CA 92008. Burial at Eternal Hills Memorial Park following funeral Mass.
