Lucy Felicia Reynolds passed away peacefully at her home in Oceanside on Thursday, February 10, 2011. Lucy was born on May 28, 1916 in Montpelier, Vermont and later resided in New Jersey until she moved to Oceanside at the age of 24 when she married Lionel “Butch” Reynolds.
Lucy, first and foremost, centered her life around family. She had a great interest and talent in art, loved to garden, read, and treasured a simple life. She was the hub of her family.
Lucy is preceded in death by her husband, Butch, her sisters, Margaret Serino and Mary Sapunar, her brother John Sapunar, and her eldest child, Marguerite.
She is survived by four other children: Butch Reynolds, Marjorie Balderrama, Beverly Goedert, and Barbara Rice. Her grandchildren include Chip Reynolds, Camille Keene, Mary Stoffal, Denise Caldwell, Emily Knecht, Marguerite Elliot, Nick Rice, Peter Goedert, Amy Goedert, and Matt Reynolds. Lucy is also great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren.
A Mass will be offered in remembrance of her on Friday, February 18th at 11:00 at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in Oceanside.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice by the Sea or to any other favorite charity.
