Maile Kahananui-Shaffer

Everyone that knows Maile remembers her beautiful infectious smile, her confident swagger, her shimmering fun personality, her unending desire to help people and her complete unyielding devoted love for her husband and all her family. She was also brilliant, kind, empathetic, caring and she just “got it” about everything. She used her unique perspective to help anyone she could at anytime.

The last 13 years she lived, worked and played 24/7/365 with her husband Steven Shaffer and worked as a loan officer and realtor with him at Shaffer Realty & Mortgage. She also adored her grandchildren Hazel, Liam and Hattie and would do anything she could for her daughters Aurora and Brittney and her sons Kendrick and Ashton. She also had a very special relationship with her sister Nani, and still called her father, daddy, and spoke to him and her mom almost daily. Every sibling including Kimo, Keoni, Kelii, Efren and Leina also meant everything to her. Everyone in her orbit including her step-sister Walee and every cousin, nephew, niece, uncle, aunt, friend and client felt Maile’s love and knew they were lucky to have Maile in their lives.

She loved using her energetic creativity to make a beautiful home and to make the annual Christmas Eve / Hanukkah party more incredible than the year before! She had a pure zest for life, people, family, business, animals, ocean nature, cooking, baking, fashion, art, music, travel, genealogy and so much more. Anyone she cared about had nothing to worry about because they knew they had Maile on their side. There will never be anyone that had everything that was Maile. She was a very unique precious gift to the world.

The family kindly asks guests attending the service to wear bright colors or cheerful attire in celebration of Maile’s life. Please refrain from wearing black, if possible.
