Marcia J. Ross passed away on July 9, 2013 at the age of 77, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her two sons, Steve and Bruce Kleinberg, and by her two grand-children, Elliot and Alexis Kleinberg. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Fligelman in 2011, and by her son, David Kleinberg, in 2012.

Born on March 1, 1936 in Chicago, IL, she met her husband, Robert Kleinberg, while attending the University of Illinois and they married in 1957. After completing her master’s degree in education, Marcia worked as a teacher in the Albuquerque Public School system from 1972-1986.

As a teenager, Marcia had visited Southern California on a family vacation and it became her dream to move to the area. After her divorce in 1987 she moved to San Diego to fulfill her dream and begin a new life.

Over the next several years Marcia developed a successful partnership by placing pay phones in businesses throughout San Diego County. She later worked as a property manager and remained active in the business until just before her death.

She was also an active member in her local community, participating in several committees with the Altamira Homeowners Association and as a member of Daybreak Community Church for over ten years.

Marcia will be remembered as an inspiration by her family and friends for her courage, charm, and unconventional perspectives.

The memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 18 at Eternal Hills Memorial Chapel, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, CA . A reception will follow the burial. Viewing will be available at 10 AM. The family welcomes friends of Marcia that would like to attend.

I was blessed to see the relationship between Marcia and Jesus ignite! She may have come to know Him out of curiousity, but she came to love Him through His people. She finally understood that His love was free and He used mighty lessons and humble people to show her...He LOVES ALL OF US! No matter how unloveable we may believe we are. What an honor to see that realization as she fully accepted that free gift of unconditional love and gave our wonderful Lord and Creator her heart, one piece at a time, until it was all His. I will never forget this amazing honor! Bless you and yours, Terri French

I remember Marcia from a GriefShare Group I attended. She was so sweet, so warm and loving. I was saddened to know of her passing, but I take great comfort in knowing she is now in the arms of our loving Heavenly Father and we will all see her again one day and forever!

God bless you,

Thank you for sharing the memories of my very best friend as well as a mentor to me. I shall never forget her. She had energy that is indescribable. I admired her tenacity to overcome in spite of what she was faced with. Rest in peace, Marcia, for your work has been completed.
