

Margaret M. Daniels, 90 05/27/1919 ~ 02/25/2010 CARLSBAD -- Margaret "Margie" Daniels was born in Brookline, Mass., to Stephen J. and Theresa B. McDonald. She married John A. "Danny" Daniels, a U.S. Marine, and they had six children. They were married for 58 wonderful years. They lived in Massachusetts and California throughout their military years. They moved to Oceanside in 1958 and settled in Carlsbad in 1965. Margie was a past member of the Carlsbad Business and Professional Women's Club and the Emblem Club. She was last employed at La Costa Resort and Spa as the Chief Switchboard Operator and was employed there for 19 years. Her primary interest was her children and she enjoyed reading, gardening, dancing, flower-arranging and traveling. She had a great sense of humor, but surprisingly for her maturity, had a certain naivete that caused her husband, Danny, to coin her "St. Margaret of Bunker Hill" (Charlestown, Mass). Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Danny; her sister, Mary Ellen Guihen; her brother, John F. McDonald; her infant son, Thomas Daniels; her daughter, Theresa "Peg" Reid; and her son, Stephen T. Daniels. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine "Kay" Walsh; son, John F. Daniels; daughter, Nora Gardiner (Bruno); grandchildren, Kevin Walsh, Dan Walsh (Lori), Caitlin Kraus (Paul), Charisse Daniels, Stephanie Daniels and Stephen Daniels; great- grandchildren, Taylor Walsh, Toire Walsh, Catherine "Catie" Kraus and Christian and Michael Brundu. She is also survived by her friend of 90 years, Winnie McRae of Fort Myers, Florida. Viewing: Wednesday, March 10, 4-7:30 p.m. Eternal Hills, Oceanside. The Rosary will be recited in the Chapel following the viewing. Services: Thursday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m., St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlsbad. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Cemetery, Oceanside.
