Marjorie (Marge) Garland was born in Waurika, Oklahoma on Sept 24, 1926 to Lucien and Flossie Mershon.The family moved to Los Angeles in 1936. After WWII she met Richard Garland, just home from the Pacific Theatre (the Asia–Pacific War). They married in Dec 1946, a union blessed with three children and enjoyed for more than 62 years. They lived in Manhattan Beach and Torrance before moving to San Pedro in 1967. Marge was a Homemaker, and Richard worked for the City of LA. In 1972 she started a job with the Los Angeles City Schools as a Special Education Assistant. The couple retired in 1983 and moved to Ocean Hills Country Club, in Oceanside where they spent many happy hours playing golf, bridge, and travelling in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in their motorhome. Marge was predeceased by her daughter Susan in 1994, husband Dick in 2008, and son Rick in 2020. She is survived by her son Ken, daughter-in-law Norma, three grandchildren Erika, Laura, and Kenny, and four great grandchildren Kailee, Arianna, Emilia, and Caleb.
