Martha Aurora Soto of Vista, CA, passed away on 07/03/2026 at the age of 89. She was born on 02/16/1937 in Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico to Antonio and Teresa Arriaga. Mom was a Domestic Engineer, who had a passion for cooking Mexican Cuisine. She got up each weekday at 5am to make dad a homemade meal with freshly-made flour tortillas to take with him to work.
Every Saturday morning was “clean the house day.” We had music on, and we talked and laughed while we all cleaned. It taught us the value of keeping a clean home. When it was necessary, she would help dad with his landscaping business, doing such things as sweeping, raking, pulling weeds, and hosing down driveways. She wasn’t afraid to get dirty. In addition, she did the administrative work behind the scenes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Antonio Soto. She is survived by her 4 children, Olga, Jaime, Veronica, and David. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with because of her genuine kindness, beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and generous heart.
