Mary Joanne Morretti, of Oceanside, CA entered into eternal rest on 7/20/2026. Born 6/19/1940 in Louisville, KY, she retired from Nordson /Asymtek in 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald (“Mo”) last December; her parents Bert and Odaline (Peerce) Thompson and brothers Donnie, Gerald and Richard. She is survived by son Ronnie (Patty) and daughters Paula (Johnny) and Michelle; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren (with 2 great-grandchildren on the way).
Joanne loved scrapbooking, reading, cross stitching, and tole painting. She was a QVC fanatic and never left home without her jewelry perfectly coordinated with her outfit. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and was always on the sidelines for their Little League, Pop Warner, basketball and soccer games. She was a faithful San Diego Padres fan.
She never lost her Kentucky accent or her love of southern cooking, White Castles, Elvis, and thunderstorms. In her heart, Kentucky was always “home”.
Please join the family in saying goodbye at her memorial service to be held 8/10/2026 from 3-6 at Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside, CA. A private burial will be held in the future.
