Michael Faulkner, age 85, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Oceanside. He was born on August 3, 1940, to his loving parents, Lois and James Faulkner. Michael lived a life rich in faith, friendship, and an enduring love for the ocean. He was a dedicated member of his local church community, an active voice in his favorite fishing club and worked for the Red Rooster for over 40 years before retiring.
To those who knew him, Michael was a legendary storyteller who brought the magic of the sea to life on land. He loved to recount tales of surfing massive, crashing waves, tracking prized catches in beautiful destinations, and identifying exotic species. He never once told a tale of the fish that got away. In Michael’s world, they never did; he always brought home the biggest fish in the sea.
Yet, for all his grand adventures, his greatest treasures were not pulled from the deep water. His absolute best stories and most cherished memories were the simple moments spent surrounded by family and friends. His heart belonged entirely to his family and the sea.
The Faulkner family wishes to express their deep gratitude to all the family, friends, and church members who offered comfort, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
May he find smooth sailing and eternal rest on heaven's peaceful shores.
