

Michael Owen Gray, an information technology specialist, died unexpectedly at his family home in Oceanside, California due to a seizure caused by the prescription medication Bupropion XL (Generic Wellbutrin XL). He was 26.
Michael was born July 29, 1992, in San Diego. From 1996 through 2013 he lived with his father and step-mother in Riverside, California, where he graduated from John W. North High School. He played tennis, swam, and was the editor of the school newspaper.
Michael attended California State University at Northridge. He later returned to school at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, where he earned several professional certifications in information technology.
He was employed for the last two years as an information technology specialist at Inside Real Estate in Oceanside.
While Michael's profession was technology, his passions included music, history, reading, writing, gaming, sailing, and fitness. He earned a sailing license in 2016 and enjoyed sailing in Mission Bay and San Diego Harbor. He also enjoyed traveling, having recently returned from visiting Chattanooga, Tennessee to see family over the holidays. He spent a summer working on a ranch in California, and had traveled to England, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Mexico and Hawaii. He planned to visit Spain in April with his girlfriend.
Michael is survived by his mother, Teri Lee Gajria, and stepfather, Puneet Gajria; his stepmother, Angie Gray of Riverside; his brother Benjamin Warren Rose; his grandfather Charles Owen Gray and his wife, Vivian; his aunt Susan Leonard and her husband, Tom; his uncles Doug and Kris Gray; cousins Amanda and Chase Leonard; and a host of extended family, adopted family, and longtime friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, William Michael Gray (2012); his paternal grandmother, Rosemary Gray (1992); and his maternal grandparents, Robert Hawkins (2013) and Judy Jones (2016).
Michael’s remains have been interred at the historic Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside in the family plot in the St. Joseph the Carpenter Lawn.
Memorial donations may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Oceanside, where Michael volunteered by maintaining the garden and grounds with his church group.
