Myung Sook "Esther" Chiu

San Diego, California — Esther Chiu, born August 17, 1952, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at the age of 73.

A deeply devoted woman, Esther treasured her family, for whom her love knew no bounds. She also loved God and her church community above all else. Her warmth and kindness were a gift to everyone she met, and she truly cherished her social connections. Her home was a canvas for her creativity, especially during the Christmas season when she delighted in decorating with festive cheer. She was also a wonderful cook, and her meals were a way she showed her love to family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Haru, her constant and faithful companion. For six years, she faced a courageous battle with cancer, a journey on which her devoted husband never left her side.

Esther is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Hon Cheong Chiu, and her sons, David Chiu and Donny Chiu, and their families. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and a profound love for her family that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, followed by a burial at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California.
