Nadine “Deanie” was born on September 11, 1924 in San Diego California to Adrian and Goldie Nadon.
The Nadon family moved to Oceanside in 1928 where Deanie
spent the next 88 years. She attended local elementary schools and graduated from Oceanside High School in 1942. She worked for ATT for many years.
When Deanie was 5 years old, her older sister Jeri, took her to a friend’s home to play. This friend had a little brother named Forrest. From that day on she was smitten with little “Forry”!
On Nov 1st, 1947, Nadine Nadon became Mrs. Forrest Rounds. The newlyweds honeymooned in a small cabin in Blue Jay near Big Bear Lake and spent the next 68 years devoted to one another until Forry’s death in September 2015. They lived their entire married life in Oceanside.
Deanie and Forry were an example to all of a marriage built on love, commitment and respect.
They spent their years together deer and duck hunting, fishing, camping and dancing to the tunes of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman.
They shared a love for the game of golf and spent years walking the golf courses of this great land.
Deanie became the premier female golfer of the North County, winning many city tournaments throughout the years.
Blessed with a long healthy life of 92 years, Deanie outlived most of her childhood friends, one being her dear friend Barbara “T.T.” Lange.
She belonged to “Lunch Bunch”, a group of women who grew up in the Oceanside Carlsbad area.
Deanie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Forry, her siblings Jeri Daley of Oceanside, Jeanne Steiger Miller of Sun City and Butch Nadon of Fallbrook.
