Nancy leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years, John Kropf; son, Jeffrey Murphy, and daughter, Kathleen Murphy; sister, Jeanne Hunt, brother Alan Hunt; step-sons, John Kropf III and Jim Kropf, and step-daughter Julie Knoop; daughter-in-laws, Annette Murphy and Karen Kropf; son-in-law Keith Knoop. She has five grandchildren: Connor Murphy and Kolton Murphy; Madison Hughes and her husband Jase, and Hunter Murphy; grandson Aidan Kropf, and great-grandson Bodhi Hughes; and her dearest friends Marie and Doug Arlt, Cissy and Stuart Russell, and Jim and Phyllis Murphy. Nancy was predeceased by her sister Glenda Budd, and both parents.
Nancy's legacy and impact on those that knew and loved her is indescribable and remarkable at the same time. Her love, kindness, and generosity for others knew no bounds. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and supporting charitable and community organizations. However, her greatest joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Nancy was just as accomplished in her professional career as she was in her personal life. She worked for 30 years at Cal Poly Pomona University, where she started as a Departmental Secretary and concluded her career as the Associate Vice President of Human Resources and Related Activities. She was highly respected by her colleagues and developed a reputation for being a leader, gracious, and an overall true professional.
More recently, Nancy served for ten years on the Vista Senior Citizens Commission, and three years as the Vista Silver Star Foundation Vice Chair, where she worked tirelessly to support and enhance senior programs in the community.
