Nick A. Baltis, 88, passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on 2/4/22. Born 3/17/1933 in Kaunas, Lithuania, became a United States citizen. Air Force veteran. Attended night school to earn a Bachelors of Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Worked as a manager of manufacturing for 40 years, retiring as Director of Projects after a long career with Federal Sign & Signal. Beloved husband of Rita (nee Bohry) for 69 years, proud father of Armin (wife Beth), Alan (wife Colleen) and Bruce (wife Chris), doting grandfather of Ariel, Brian, Rhalina, and Nick. Survived by his sister Rita Gorski (nee Milkovaitis, husband Wayne) and brother Ray. Preceded in death by father Kazimieras, mother Elena, and brother Richard. Constant reader. World traveler, speaker of multiple languages. Amazing memory and vocabulary. Teller of tales. Card shark, pool hustler, “product of a misspent youth.” Beloved by animals & children, a gentle giant. Protector, teacher, encourager. The best husband and father one could have wished for. There will be a private farewell for family only. Please share memories below.
