How do you sum up the life of a beloved husband, father, brother and grandpa when he was taken away so unexpectedly? I guess you begin with little details that outline the basics of his life: Reginald Keith Davis was born on November 29, 1954 in Mansfield, Ohio to Willie Edward and Erecenia Davis. He was the youngest of two brothers, Shawn and Dane, and sister, Cassandra.
At the age of two Reggie’s family moved to Detroit, Michigan where he graduated from Munford High School in 1972. He went on to attend Ferris State University for two years and in 1977 he moved to Los Angeles, California.
His daughter, Tamber Connors was born to him in 1982. He met the love of his life, Delores Williams and was united in marriage to her on July 23, 1983. From this union, two children were born, Rodney Keith and Whitney Ami.
Reggie worked at CalFed Savings and Loans as a scheduler in the I.T. department for 15 years. In 1988, the Southern California Gas Company hired him to work in the I.T. Department. After the merger, in 1999, he was recognized for his hard work, dedication, and managerial skills and was offered a position to manage the E.C.C. for Sempra Energy in Rancho Bernardo for 11 years.
His favorite hobbies were golfing, horse racing, computers, listening to jazz and watching movies with his wife.
Reggie’s first love was his family. He was a dedicated husband and father. He loved taking his daughter Whitney to piano lessons, ballet, and soccer practice, Girl Scout meetings, choir presentations and cheerleading practice. He was an assistant coach on Rodney’s little league football, basketball and baseball teams. He was a dedicated grandfather ,and was anxiously awaiting the birth of his second grandchild by his daughter, Tamber. Reggie was a great provider, a great friend and a man with strong family values. He was thrilled to walk his daughter down the aisle in marriage to a wonderful Godly man and he was pleased to see his son graduate from college and marry a beautiful Godly woman. Reggie was especially pleased to see his son follow him into I.T. at San Diego Gas and Electric.
Through life’s ups and downs Reggie always maintained a sense of family first. But he also touched the lives of many people. He made himself available to counsel others through life’s many challenges. He was a very down to earth, loving, caring person, who was always willing to help.
The greatest joy for Reggie’s family was to see him come to the Lord. That fact alone takes the sting out of his sudden untimely death! He was baptized on June 6th in the name of Jesus Christ and began attending the House of Good News and hearing the Word of God with his wife and children. He was especially blessed to be able to spend his last days studying and learning the word of God. One of his most recent hobbies became listening to Gospel music and enjoying being ministered to by it.
His father Willie E. Davis preceded him in death on July 02, 2005. He is survived by his Mother, Erecenia Davis, his loving wife, Delores and three children and 1 grandchild, Tamber Connors, Rodney Keith and Tiffany Davis, and Whitney Ami and DeAndre Wilson, grandchild, Jordan Williams, brothers Shawn Davis (wife Stephanie), Dane Davis (wife Zarita) and his sister, Cassandra Friday, as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Thank the Lord that we will see him again in glory!!
