Oceanside – Richard Singlehurst Anderson died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Carmel Mountain
Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness.
Rik was born on May 19, 1926 in Pinellas County, Florida. He attended Georgia Tech
University and married Carolyn Spruill on March of 1948 in Atlanta. Together they moved to
Southern California. Rik worked as an electrical engineer and business executive while Carolyn
raised their daughters. They retired to Oceanside in 1990, where Carolyn preceded him in death.
Rik is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and William Eddy, of Spotsylvania,
Virginia, and daughter Vicki Anderson of Aliso Viejo, California. He is also survived by six
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, at Eternal Hills Mortuary.
Burial will be held at a later date and will be private.
