He was born in Artesia, California on November 27, 1923. Robert graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California. He was married to Gloria Anita Dougherty on October 5, 1956. Mr. Dougherty had a career in farming. He also had a passion for gardening and baseball.
He is preceded by his son, Robert Dougherty Jr. and survived by his wife Gloria, daughter Gloria Shatzer and son-in-law Bill.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Eternal Hills Chapel in Oceanside, California.
