Bob was born to Joseph and Julia Lenkowski of Pittsburgh PA in 1941. In 1958, he enlisted in the marine corps and was sworn in by his uncle, Master Sergeant Fred Lenn. He married Jeanne Belko in 1963, and together they raised 3 children. During his military career of 23 years, he was deployed to Vietnam on two tours. He received a purple heart, combat action ribbon, Vietnam meritorious unit citation, Vietnam campaign medal, and others. He was also a rifle and pistol expert. He retired in 1981, pursued his passion for cooking, and began his new career. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, long walks on the beach, watching sports, and cooking for his family. He was a resident of Oceanside for 40 years and loved spending time by the water.
Robert is survived by his wife Jeanne of 60 years, his children Staci and Fred Nazarian, Michael Lenkowski, Todd and Masami Lenkowski, and his five grandchildren, Robert, Alexander, Dani, Ben, and Leo. A military honors memorial service will be held at noon on August 18th, 2022 at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, you will forever be missed, yet remembered always.
