He attended medical school but dropped out early to accept an offer to move to the US from the Navy. While serving, he obtained a Masters in Human Resource Management Systems. After leaving the Navy, he passed the California Bar Exam before eventually returning to his old medical school and, at the age of 60, fulfilled his dream of becoming a doctor.
In addition to being a man of achievement, Dr. Romeo Co Lim, Petty Officer First Class, Esquire, was a man of boundless kindness, generosity, and love. He spent his life inspiring others and raising their spirits, making friends everywhere he went. The standing ovation he received from his entire class when he was given his doctoral hood from med school was a testament to the love that his compassionate and uplifting nature engendered.
Romeo is survived by his wife, Tess, his children, Patrick and Christine, and two grandchildren, Rylee and Silas. He also leaves behind a sister, two brothers, seven nieces, and two nephews.
A memorial service for Romeo will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, CA from 1pm to 2pm on February 21, 2024. A wake will be held at a time and location to be determined.
