Romero was loyal, warm, and always interested in how family members were doing. He asked questions always - always wanting to know what we were into, how work was going, how our kids were doing, how school was going. He had a keen memory, often bringing up fond memories. He was quick to laugh - something that made our family get togethers so fun. We shared football. We both played high school football and frequently talked about the things that we learned in sports. Everyone knows he was a most loyal Chargers fan. One of our favorite memories was going to a Chargers vs. Raiders game in San Diego - he was probably 13 years old. He had no fear of Raiders fans and celebrated big plays as much as any Charger on the field. He will be sorely, sorely missed. I love you Romero.

I want to send my love and deepest condolences to Romero’s family. ❤️ Romero will always hold such a special place in my heart. We shared so many memories together in high school, and those memories are ones I will always cherish.

He was such an important part of my younger years and someone I will never forget. Even though many years have passed since we last saw each other, the memories and the love I had for him have never disappeared.

I’m so grateful that our paths crossed and that I got to know Romero during such an important time in both of our lives. I will always remember him, the laughter we shared, the memories we made, and the person he was.

My heart goes out to his family during this incredibly difficult time. I hope you find comfort in knowing how loved and special Romero was, and that his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. ❤️🕊️

I met Romero while working at Target. He was always so kind, respectful, and genuine.
I once shared a story about an interaction I had with him during an interview on a Chargers podcast. I chose not to mention his name because I wanted to respect his privacy. Now, I’ll be reaching out to them to tell the story of My Chargers Angel. I’ll make sure they know his name and get to hear his story on the next episode.
At the time, I was just a casual Chargers fan. Romero caught wind of that pretty quickly when he realized we shared a mutual hatred for the Raiders in the break room.
Less than a month later, it was my birthday. I was at work when Romero came in on his DAY OFF just to drop off a gift for me. I was completely caught off guard. I thanked him, and then he asked if I had any plans the next day.
I told him I didn’t.
He waited until I opened the gift. Inside was a NAVY BLUE LaDainian Tomlinson jersey.
He looked at me and said, “Good! We’re going to the Chargers game tomorrow!”
The next morning, we were up at 6 a.m. to get some good tailgating in. Somewhere along the way, I realized I had no idea where we were sitting. Turns out, Romero had surprised me with some AMAZING seats!
And to top it all off, the Chargers WON! What an incredible way to experience my very first Chargers game.
Romero, thank you for everything. You went out of your way to do something special for me, and it’s a memory I’ll carry with me forever. You left a huge impact on my life and the lives of so many others.
You weren’t just a great friend. You helped create a lifelong Chargers fan.
Thank you for being my Chargers Angel.
Love ya, mate! ⚡
BOLT UP FOREVER!

I've known Romero Since we were both in school I remember him talking to me about wanting to go to a charger and raiders game. And almost any time whenever there would be a game on he would invite me over and we would order pizza from giant new yorkers. He was a good guy there's so many things me and Romero done together. We would go to the shooting range, cruise the beach while listening to music, go to the mall to look at jerseys, we also went on a road trip to Las Vegas, and I also brought him with me to rosarito Baja California mex to visit my family. He was also my walking partner when we graduated from high school together I'm happy that God gave me a chance to have known and hang out with Romero and the time he has spent with us.

I'm gonna miss you carnal ( brother ) and all I'll have now is the memories we had Rest In peace my Family and I also send our condolences to the family of Romero.

                                                                             Roger Gonzalez.

Most of my early memories from childhood have Romero in them. He was filled with life and joy, and held nothing but love for his parents and his brother. He will be missed. —Jarrod
