Dearly loved first born son, big brother and best friend, Ryan will be greatly missed. He had a curiosity of the world around him and for seeking knowledge. He was a quiet leader and felt his most confident being a mentor and teacher on the subjects he was most passionate about, especially computer programming and music.
An accomplished pianist, Ryan taught himself to play guitar in 2020 and became quite proficient. This instrument brought him solace and a source of contentment during his most difficult times these past few years.
Ryan participated in Boy Scouts and was awarded the highest rank of Eagle Scout in 2018. During high school he was an active member of the National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation. Ryan graduated second in his class from Mission Vista High School in 2018 and will receive his degree posthumously from UCSD with a BS Computer Science. He was employed as a Software Engineer Intern at ServiceNow the past four summers working on their platform development.
Ryan is survived by his mother and father, Holly and Chad, and brother Tyler. His grandmother Carol Smith, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be a memorial service held on Thursday May 18th 2:00PM at North Coast Church, 2405 North Santa Fe Ave, Vista, CA 92084 (760) 724-6700.
