

Sam Dean Taylor of Escondido CA spent most of his 59 years in San Diego County. He graduated from Vista High School, followed by entry into the United States Navy in 1973 where he received his early medical training as a corpsman and medical assistant. Leaving the Navy in 1979, he worked as an Orthopedic Physicians Assistant, first at Kaiser Hospital and later for UCSD Medical Center. Later in his career he worked in medical sales.
Sam loved the outdoors and the ocean, deep sea diving and playing golf. He was a great cook and loved his garden. We will miss his smile, his laugher, his presence.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Watson Taylor, sons Ryan Taylor and Adam Taylor, sister, Vicki Taylor, brother, Bruce Taylor, brother, James Pina, nephew, Conrad Tanner, nephew, Nicholas Tanner, nephew, Michael Levy, niece, Melissa Smith, niece, Amanda Smith, niece, Jessica Pina, niece, Joan Touchstone, niece, Sarah Levy, niece, Eileen Watson, niece, Clare Watson, grandnephew, Trent Tanner, grandnephew, Cole Tanner, brother-in-law, Robert Watson, brother-in-law David Levy, sister-in-law, Nell Levy, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sammy Taylor, mother, Maxine Barnes, and step-father, Arthur Richard Pina.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 1pm at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel in Oceanside, California.
Mr. Taylor's final resting place will be Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California.
